The American Bashkir Curly Society (ABC SOCIETY) was introduced in June 2001
to allow registry of American Bashkir Curly horses in Britain. We have a pure register and a part bred register.
All horses registered with us must have DNA testing

|
| The American Bashkir Curly horse is a very gentle and warm horse with a wonderful disposition.
They generally like people and are very willing to please making them suitable for children and adults alike.. They are quick
learners and can compete in any sphere,
excelling in dressage, vaulting and endurance due to their ability to stay calm and
their stamina to keep going.
Their coat is said to have hyper-allergenic qualities where many people with horse allergies
have no or greatly reduced symptoms when around this breed.
|
|
| In winter the coat should be very wavy to extremely curly. They can have straight or curly
eyelashes but should always have curls in the ears and around the fetlock joints. The mane should be wavy or curly (like wringlets)
and the tail should be wavy. Some horses shed the mane and tail periodically, while others keep them. Either is
acceptable for the breed. They should have a short to medium back, short cannon bone and large flat knees.
The eyes should be slightly slanted (almost oriental)and set relatively wide apart. They stand between 14 and 15.1 hands.
